Will The Oakland Athletics Move To Vancouver?

Will The Oakland Athletics Move To Vancouver?

Earlier today it was reported that the Oakland Athletics, frustrated that they haven’t yet been able to convince the city of Oakland to agree to their proposal for a new stadium, have now resorted to blackmail through the time-old tradition of threatening to move the team. Possible new homes have included Las Vegas, Montreal, Portland, Charlotte, and Vancouver. The news of the Athletics exploring a possible move now has the local sports media in a tizzy and every baseball fan in the Lower Mainland asking themselves, “is it possible? Could it happen? Will the Oakland Athletics move to Vancouver?”

A Rainbow Of Inconsistency: A Retrospective On The Many Logos Of The Vancouver Canucks

The Canucks are distinct amongst North American sports teams in that they have quite possibly the most diverse collection of logos and jerseys out of any pro team’s history. When you go to a Canucks game and look out at the crowd of fans, you see a rainbow of colours. The jerseys have gone from blue and green to red and yellow to black and maroon and then finally back to blue and green. And with the team ready to celebrate its fiftieth year in the NHL, rumours persist that the Canucks will unveil yet another set of new jerseys to mark the occasion.

2019 NHL Playoff Predictions

Playoff predictions. Everyone has them. They’re all terrible. Mine are no different. But at least I admit it! I kid you not, one year I went 0/8 in the 1st Round (which is almost like getting 8/8, right? Practically the same thing!). But I’ve also occasionally gotten very, very close to nailing it. In 2011, I correctly predicted it would be the Vancouver Canucks against the Boston Bruins in the Finals (and then incorrectly predicted my Canucks would ultimately prevail). And in 2015, I got something like only three match-ups wrong in the entire thing. Coincidentally, that time I also picked the Tampa Bay Lightning to win it all. But I’m getting a little ahead of myself here, so let’s get started.

The Pregame Show

Welcome to Ballcap Sports! A blog featuring my thoughts and observations on the world of sports, put on display to be mocked by the public. I’m known for having (and sharing) endless opinions, and the way I see it, why let my wife suffer alone? I have some big, important thoughts on why things are the way they are, and instead of just going on about it to my friends all the time, I figured I could put these thoughts to slightly better use by sharing them with you, my hypothetical reader.
